Online drawing games for friends: draw, pass & guess

Nobody needs to be good at drawing. The fun is in the detour: a simple phrase becomes a picture, a picture becomes a guess, and somehow there is a penguin in charge.

Pass the Sketch

A whale in wellies becomes… absolutely anything.

3–8 players · Separate screens · Drawing telephone

Try a free three-turn chain. The full chain is included with a Pass the Sketch purchase or the host’s All Access.

What kind of drawing game is this?

Pass the Sketch is drawing telephone. A player draws a phrase, the next person describes the picture, and another draws that description. Everyone gets a turn in a chain. At the end, the group reveals how the original idea changed. It is different from a live speed-guessing game where everyone watches one artist and shouts the same answer.

How to start an online room

Choose the free taster and enter a nickname. Send the room invitation to two to seven friends, so your group has 3–8 people in total. Each player joins on their own phone, tablet or computer. When everyone is Ready, the host starts. Use your normal voice call if you are apart; keep your prompt and drawing private until the reveal.

Touch, mouse and a way to join without drawing

Draw on the built-in canvas with a finger, stylus or mouse. Use undo if a line goes wrong. If drawing is not a comfortable option, use the written-description alternative. Keep guesses short enough to draw: “a fox conducting an orchestra” gives the next person more to work with than a paragraph.

Free taster, full game and other ways to play

The free online chain has three turns. The full game extends the chain to six or eight turns and is included with one host’s Pass the Sketch purchase or All Access. Guests do not pay. A separate one-device version supports passing the screen at home; check its own group size and handover instructions.
