How to play Mahjong Solitaire
Pair identical tiles to remove them. A tile must have no tile above it and at least one open horizontal side. Clearing the top and long rows unlocks more choices. Our original floral tile faces match exactly; there are no special flower or season exceptions.
Three layouts, fresh decisions
Courtyard has 80 tiles, Moon bridge has 64, and Pagoda has 84. Each daily layout uses the same deal for everyone on that UTC date. New deal gives another arrangement. Every new deal has a verified path to completion; choosing a different sequence can still leave you stuck.
Undo, hint and reshuffle
Undo takes back a match or shuffle. Hint highlights one available pair, without promising it is the best long-term choice. Reshuffle preserves the remaining tile faces and creates a solvable arrangement. If the remaining stack cannot be paired geometrically, it spreads those tiles into a flat board. Hints and shuffles are counted separately from a clean win.
Is this traditional multiplayer mahjong?
This is Mahjong Solitaire: a single-player matching puzzle. It does not use the four-player draw-and-discard rules, Japanese riichi scoring or American mahjong cards. All three layouts are free, with no account or download. Progress saves in this browser.
